Creating Holiday Gift Lists with SigParser

Build your holiday gift lists from the relationships in your team's email and calendars.

Start in early October to lock your list by mid-November.

Step 1: Connect Mailboxes

  1. Go to Sources › Mailboxes and click + Add › Invite People to Connect.

  2. Invite everyone who works directly with clients and partners, such as leadership, account managers and sales, plus shared inboxes like sales@ or info@.

Step 2: Create Gift Fields

  1. Go to Data › Contacts, click Fields › Add New Field.

  2. Create the following 2 fields (Each one of these fields will be Contact, not Company):

    • Gift Score (Score): 0-5. This will allow you to see the strength of your company's relationship with this contact.

  • Gift Ideas (Text): This will allow you to note potential gift ideas for each individual contact.

Step 3: Edit Field Rules

  1. In Contacts, click your newly added Gift Score Filter at the top of the column.

  2. Click Edit Field Rules › Add Rule.

  3. Click Select. At this point, it will be up to you to determine how you’d like to organize your gift scores. Some examples you could filter by include Total Emails (Count), Total Meetings (Count), Total Relationships (Count), or Total Interactions (Count), among others.

** For this example, we’ll filter by Total Interactions (Count).

  4. It will also be up to you to decide your specific parameters for gift giving. For this example, you can create the following rules as shown below. This tells you that any contact you have more than 50 interactions with will be getting the highest score possible, while contacts with lower interaction counts will have lower scores. You can custom tailor these parameters however you see fit.

Step 4: Build Your List View

  1. In Contacts, click the top bar that says All Contacts

  2. Click Add New View › Add Blank View

  3. Find the Gift Score and Gift Ideas Fields (or whatever fields you created). Click to add them to the view.

  4. Click Save. At the top bar, click the 3 dots on the right to rename your view to Holiday Gift Lists, or whatever else you’d like.

Step 5: Add Filters

You now have a view which shows you the gift score of every contact your company knows. However, we need to narrow down and organize the list. Please keep in mind that each filter is customizable to fit your own needs.

  1. In Contacts, click Filters, keep the default rows and click + to add (After each one, click Add “AND” filter):

    • Latest Interaction (Date) within the last 730 days (2 years).

    • Total Emails (Count) greater than 1

    • Contact Status equals Valid

    • Feel free to add any other parameters you’d like to set, such as job title, location, latest meeting, etc, in order to curate the exact list you need.

  2. You can also filter by Gift Score by adding another filter.

    • Click back into filters, find Gift Score, then click what level of score you’d like to view. Click Save.

Step 6: Have Owners Review

  1. In Fields, add Strongest Relationship. This will tell you who in your company stays in communication with this contact the most.

  2. Give owners a week to adjust tiers, then lock the list.

Step 7: Export & Log

  1. Click Export on each view to download a CSV for your gift vendor.

  2. Once gifts are sent out, click Fields › Add a new field › Add a number field named Last Gift Year. Update this column for everyone who received a gift.
