How much storage space does the On Premises Engine need?

Updated yesterday

The SigParser On Premise Engine uses some local storage.

We suggest at least 50GB of storage to provide enough space for the operating system, about 10GB of temporary storage.

The 10GB of temporary storage is used if the SigParser cloud API ever goes down temporarily or your API key stops working or some other transient issue that might need to be addressed. In this case the On Premise Engine stores the data it collected (meta data, not email bodies or attachments) for retrying later.

Can I delete the "history" folder?

No, the history folder stores delta tokens for the processing state of each mailbox. Deleting the history folder would cause the mailboxes to reprocess from scratch again which could take days or weeks.

Can I delete the "storage" folder?

No, the storage folder is used to store emails and meetings that failed to transmit, likely due to a transient error. When the On Premises Engine starts again it will attempt to transmit these emails and meetings.

What is the storage format of the On Premises Engine files in the "history" and "storage" folders?

They are all JSON files.
