Bar Chart Grouping: Visualize the Distribution of Your Contacts and Companies

SigParser's new Bar Chart Grouping lets you group your Contacts or Companies by any data field and instantly see a visual distribution - with counts and percentages - across your entire network.

Overview

Bar Chart Grouping is a new visualization mode in the SigParser grid. Instead of viewing records row by row, you can switch to a bar chart that shows how your contacts or companies are distributed across the values of any field - Job Level, Industry, Company Size, and more.

Each bar represents one value (e.g., C-Level, Manager, Contributor), with the count and percentage of matching records shown alongside it. The chart updates in real time as you apply filters, so you can explore a specific segment of your data.

How to Use Bar Chart Grouping

  1. Go to Contacts or Companies in SigParser.

  2. In the grid toolbar, click the bar chart icon to switch to Bar Chart view.

  3. Use the Group By dropdown to select the field you want to visualize (e.g., Job Level, Industry).

  4. Use the Sort dropdown to order bars by value (A–Z) or by count.

  5. Toggle Hide (Empty) to remove groups with no records from the chart.

  6. Apply any grid filters to narrow the dataset - the chart will update to reflect only the filtered records.

  7. Click the download icon to export the chart data as a CSV file.

Note: the Bar Chart Grouping is dependent on the filters you have applied on your current Grid View. Select a new View or adjust the filters for different results.

Fields You Can Group By

Bar Chart Grouping works with almost any field in SigParser, including:

  • Job Level - Contributor, Manager, Director, C-Level, Executive

  • Job Department - Sales, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, etc.

  • Industry - Financial Services, Healthcare, Technology, etc.

  • Company Size - Employee count ranges

  • Custom Fields - Any field you've created, such as Client, Prospect, or Lead Source

Use Cases

📊 Understand Your Network's Makeup at a Glance

Want to know what percentage of your contacts are C-Level vs. Contributors? Group by Job Level and see the full breakdown instantly.

Example: Group Contacts by Job Level to discover that 23.6% are C-Level and 28.1% are Contributors. Use that insight to adjust messaging or target a specific tier.

🏢 Identify Which Industries Dominate Your Relationships

Group by Industry to see where your network is concentrated - and spot underrepresented sectors worth developing.

Example: Group Companies by Industry to see that Financial Services and Healthcare make up the majority of your accounts. Use that to prioritize industry-specific content or outreach.

🎯 Spot Gaps Before Outreach

Before launching a campaign, use Bar Chart Grouping to understand who you're reaching. Filter to a specific segment first - a region, a custom list, an account tier - then group to see the breakdown within that segment.

Example: Filter Contacts by a Prospect custom field, then group by Job Level to confirm you're reaching decision-makers — not just individual contributors.

Best Practices

  • Use filters before grouping to focus the chart on a specific segment (e.g., a region, an account list, a custom field value) rather than your entire database.

  • Hide empty groups to keep the chart clean, especially when grouping by fields that have many possible values.

  • Combine with Map View — use Map View to filter by geography, then switch to Bar Chart to understand the composition of that regional segment.
