How to Add and Remove Fields in a Grid View

Updated today

SigParser's grid views are fully customizable — you can choose exactly which fields appear as columns so you see the data that matters most to you. This article walks you through how to add and remove fields from any grid view.

Adding a Field to a Grid View

Option 1 — Field Selector

  1. Click the Fields button in the toolbar above the grid (e.g., "16 Fields") to open the Field Selector.

  2. In the All View Fields panel on the left, click any field to add it to your grid. It will immediately appear in the Visible View Fields panel on the right.

    • Use the Search bar at the top of either panel to quickly find a specific field by name.

    • Click the magnifying glass icon on the left panel to browse fields organized by group.

  3. Once you've added all the fields you want, click Save to apply your changes.

Tip: You can add multiple fields at once before saving — just keep selecting from the left panel until your Visible View Fields list looks the way you want it.

Option 2 — Using a Column Header

  1. Click on any existing column header in the grid to open the column menu.

  2. Select Insert Field Left or Insert Field Right to add a new field adjacent to that column.

    1. Selecting Manage All Fields from this menu will open the Field Selector (Option 1).

Option 3 — Using the + Button

  1. Click the blue + button at the far right of the column header row.

  2. Select Insert Field Left to add a field to the right side of your grid.

Option 1 — Field Selector

  1. Click the Fields button in the toolbar above the grid to open the Field Selector.

  2. In the Visible View Fields panel on the right, click any field you want to remove. It will be moved back to the All View Fields panel on the left.

    • Use the Search bar at the top of the right panel to quickly locate a specific field if your list is long.

  3. Once you've removed all the fields you no longer need, click Save to apply your changes.

Option 2 — Using a Column Header

  1. Click on the column header of the field you want to remove.

  2. Select Hide Field from the column menu.

    1. Selecting Manage All Fields from this menu will open the Field Selector (Option 1).

Note: Removing a field from a grid view does not delete any data — it only hides that column from the current view. You can always add it back at any time.

Saving Your Changes

How your changes are saved depends on the method used:

  • Field Selector — Changes are not applied until you click the Save button at the bottom of the Field Selector panel. Clicking Cancel will discard any changes.

  • Column Header (Insert Field Left / Insert Field Right) — Changes are saved automatically when you select the option.

  • + Button — Changes are saved automatically when you select the option.

Note: Fields cannot be added or removed on a locked view. If a view is locked, you will need to duplicate it or contact your administrator to make changes.
