đĄ What is the Primary Relationship Field?
Primary Relationship is a customizable field that lets you define who is the most important coworker for each contact or company.
Unlike other relationship metrics that SigParser calculates automatically (First, Latest, Strongest, Most Active), you control the rules for Primary Relationship assignment.
This insight helps teams with:
Automatic CRM ownership assignment based on real relationships
Filtering out support staff or one-off communicators
Warm introductions using the strongest internal connections
Confident client handoffs with clear relationship mapping
Instead of guessing, SigParser gives you clear visibility into your teamâs most meaningful connectionsâbased on real communication data.
đ How It Works
You set the criteria, SigParser applies the rules:
Define qualification rules - minimum role levels, interaction thresholds, relationship types
SigParser evaluates all coworkers against your criteria
Primary Relationship assigned only when your conditions are met
Sync to CRM for ownership or use in SigParser for reporting and segmentation
Primary Relationship only populates when Job Role Levels are configured. This ensures intentional, meaningful assignments based on your standards.
âď¸ Step 1: Set Job Role Levels
Manually Assign:
Go to Coworkers in SigParser
Add the Job Role Level column using the Column Picker
Click the cell next to each coworker and enter a value between 1â5
Bulk Update:
Prepare a CSV and include a Job Role Level column
Go to Coworkers â Import
Upload and map your CSV fields
Complete the import
â ď¸ Email addresses are required to match and update records.
âď¸Step 2: Define Your Rules
Go to Settings â Admin Settings
Scroll to the Primary Coworker Relationship section
Set Relationship Type:
Choose which metric determines the Primary Relationship:
Strongest
Most Active
First
Latest
Set Minimum Coworker Role Level:
Define the minimum role level (1â5) required for coworkers to qualify.
âExample:
Levels 1â2 = Admins or support staff
Levels 3â5 = Sales, Executives, or Partners
Set Minimum Interaction Thresholds:
Specify how many interactions must exist before assigning the Primary Relationship:
Emails To
Emails From
Completed Meetings
Click Update to save your settings.
It can take up to 8 hours for these changes to be reflected in the Primary Relationship field.
Minimum Interactions Setting - Why use it?
Ensures the designation goes to a meaningful, active connectionânot a one-off interaction.
Helps filter out assistants or junior employees from being marked as the primary contact owner unless intended.
Keeps account assignments relevant for BD, marketing, and client service workflows.
Step 3: Assign CRM Ownership Automatically
Go to Connectors
Select your CRM connector
Under Export Settings, locate the Fields to Export section
Map the SigParser Field: Primary Relationship to your CRMâs Owner ID or equivalent field (e.g., Contact Owner, Account Owner)
This lets you automatically assign account or contact ownership in your CRM based on your defined Primary Relationship logic in SigParser.
