Problem
Salesforce has it's own SMTP email sending server which bypasses the employee mailboxes that are typically monitored. This results in statistics not being accurate in SigParser.
Additionally, SigParser can generally only watch mailboxes such as Microsoft 365, Google or Exchange.
Solution
The solution to this is the following:
Create a mailbox in your environment (Microsoft 365, Google, Exchange)
It would probably have a name like salesforce-catch-all@mycompany.com
Connect SigParser to that mailbox like you have connected your other employee mailboxes.
Setup Salesforce to always BCC the mailbox you setup. This guide will show you how.
SigParser will then be able to understand who is sending the email and who the email is being sent to. SigParser is able to look at the email headers and understand how to properly increment statistics.
โ ๏ธ Licensing Impact: This additional mailbox may impact your monthly bill. Additionally, this may increase the bill based on how many employees are sending emails this way. This can't be used to bypass proper licensing of mailboxes.
FAQ: Do I need to label the salesforce-catch-all@mycompany.com address as a Coworker record?
Yes but it will probably automatically get labeled correct. We suggest changing the employment status of the Coworker to Ignore though.
FAQ: Will email statistics be incremented for salesforce-catch-all@mycompany.com?
No, you probably won't see any statistics or very few for your catch all mailbox.
