Email Validation

SigParser's email validation can check if an email address is valid.

Updated today

SigParser can enrich your contact records by checking if an email address is valid and can receive messages.

Benefits of email validation:

  • Clean Email Lists: remove email addresses that are invalid

  • Reduce Bounce Rates: high bounce rates can negatively impact your sender reputation

  • Targeted Marketing: focus on validated email addresses with high confidence scores to improve deliverability and campaign success.

How Does Email Validation Work?

SigParser checks a few things to see if an email is valid:

  • Syntax: is the email address formatted correctly?

  • Domain: does the domain name exist?

  • Mailbox: can the mailbox receive messages?

  • Spam: is the email address flagged as malicious or associated with known spam

  • Server Response: send a test email - what response is received from the email server?

    • Note: this is not a real email - the email address does not receive a message

  • Connected Mailboxes: if you have a mailbox connected, SigParser can also use your email communications as an additional validation method. This improves overall accuracy and confidence of validation.

Once the validation is performed, you will receive and Email Verification Status and an Email Verification Score.

Email Validation Status

  • Valid: this email address is active and can receive emails.

  • Invalid: this email address doesn't exist or cannot receive emails.

  • Catch-all: the email domain is configured to accept all emails, even if the mailbox does not exist.

Email Validation Score

SigParser will also provide a confidence score for the validated email. The more recently an email address was validated, the higher the validation score.

A validation score of 1 indicates that the email address is configured as a "catch-all" domain and there was no secondary information available to further validate.

It is possible for a "catch-all" email address to have a confidence score of 5 if you had recent email communications with this email address.

Note: a email validation score of 1 with a status of "Catch-all" is considered verified and will count towards your credit usage.

Enrichment Credits

Each email validation requires 1 credit per record. You can purchase credits in your SigParser account.
